Nokia X5 Review

Nokia is all set to release a new 3G/2G mobile phone X5-01 with many exciting and entertaining features. It is a Symbian smartphone and bears a square-like body with sleek design. It is more similar to both Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 and is coming to compete with them.

Design
The Nokia X5-01 has a dimension of 74.3mm x 66.4mm x 16.8mm and weighs 129g. It is very compact, solid and relatively sleek and light weighted. So it certainly fits into ones pocket very easily. When the slider is closed, its body takes a square shape and hence looks very fashionable. In this state the right and the left menu buttons are visible to the user and have access to them. In addition to that it has a D-pad, calling, menu and a dedicated music button.  When the button is pressed it takes you immediately to the music player and hence is very portable and fits perfectly to be under the X series. The X5-01 is not a good rotator but more a conventional slider. It has a speaker at the bottom of the slider.

Features
Nokia  X5-10 in general has 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and 3G (HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100) network. It has a TFT display type with 256 K colours and the display size is 320 x 240 pixels and 2.36 inches. It supports few alert types such as vibration, polyphonic (64), WAV, and MP3 ringtones. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack speakerphone. It features a phonebook and its capacity depends on the system memory. Phonebook entries are practically unlimited and it also supports Photocall. It can hold call record details up to a max of 30 days. It has 200 MB internal memory with microSD card slot and can be extendable up to 32 GB. It has a 2 GB card included. It supports connectivity via GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. It has v2.1 Bluetooth with A2DP and v2.0 micro USB. It does not support an infrared port.

The camera is 5MP with LED flash and has 2592 x 1944 pixels. It has a VGA video operating at 15fps. The Nokia X05-01 will support the MP3, WMA, WAV and eAAC+ audio formats and 3GP and MP4 video formats. It has ARM 11 600 MHz processor and Symbian OS 9.3 of series 60 v3.2 UI.  The messaging formats it supports are SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email and IM. It has a WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML browser. You can also install other browsers like Opera Mobile, Opera Mini and Skyfire. It also has a stereo FM radio with RDS. It includes many games and also comes with downloading features. It is available in many colours like pink, azure, graphite black, yellow green and purple. It has Li-Ion 950 mAh standard battery. Video recording is good enough with 640 x 480 pixels. It doesn’t come with GPA.

Performance
Talk time on 3G is up to 3 h and 30 min and on 2G it is up to 5 hrs and stand-by time is up to 384 h on 2G / 3G plus 24 hours of music playback. The 600 MHz ARM11 processor inside the X5-01 makes the Os run with high speed.

The Nokia x5-01 is aimed at people who want stylish phone with QWERTY keypad and modern features.
